Default JJ E83CC tubes

Hi all, just been reading about the new adition to JJ valves, the E83CC. I have always liked the JJ ECC83S tubes in my Phono III but reading revues of the E83CC, I ordered two matched tubes from Hot Rox and put them in the Phono this morrning, well, it is true what the revues say, they are very very good, better bass more mid band and very clean HF, I shall now order another to try in the WA88. Very impresed. Bob

Hi Bob

Where did you see the reviews and what valves did you replace?

Tim

Hi Tim, just google - JJ E83CC tubes - there is a few revues and all say much the same thing and after hearing them I compleatly agree, even fresh out of the boxes the sound was immediately more full and cleaner, bass, much tighter, mids more foward and the high frequnces so full and smooth, realy nice. They are also very quiet in comparison to the ECC83S that they have replaced. The E83CC has the same electrical values, so no change in the RIAA equilisation, and they have a ladder type grid and a screening can, if you are running a Phono II or III, £50.00 to Hot Rox for a mached pair will bring your records to a new level. Thanks, I might give it a go. I was considering the z-foil upgrade (££££!) but this looks more cost effective.

The standard kit sounds great as it is. The Pre 3 you sold me also sounds great, by the way.

Thanks Tim, if you do buy the JJ E83CC tubes and I hope you do, do not dismiss the z foil resistors. Bob
