Ampifier cases.
Since my first effort at amplifier building met with a lukewarm reception when introduced to the domestic environment, the next will need to be built into a proper case. So far I have found these http://www.autocostruire.com/catalog...2ddc98cd0d2a4d (courtesy of NickG), but would like to find some alternatives. Does anyone know of any other sources?

Re: Ampifier cases.
Philip at Bluebell Audio sells a good range of ali and steel chassis.

Re: Ampifier cases.
Hi-i used a couple of Hammond cases from Bluebell for my ECL82 monoblocks but they are a little on the "flimsy" side.
I think it was MJ who suggested using aluminium channel for the front/rear/sides and aluminium plate for the top. I like the "wood" look with an aluminium top plate but my woodworking skills let me down. Philip

Re: Ampifier cases.
The only fix for that is practice. Woodworking is a skill. It takes time to improve.

Re: Ampifier cases.
You can deal directly with Hammond for a one off order and you then get to choose from the full range.

Re: Ampifier cases.
In the past I have bought faulty amps on ebay and just used the cases as they already have the switches, knobs & sockets on them. Old Cambridge Audio stuff is good for this purpose and easy to replace the front with thick alu or wood.
