Default Where's the midrange?

Hi,
can a full range loudspeaker work ok using just the T15 tweeter and the B139 units from Kef?

Should do if you get the XO right. Better than the FR unit by itself to be honest. Most FR units can be (slightly depricatingly, if that's the word I want) described as glorified midrange drivers or very large tweeters. So running them wide-range, with support up-top and at the bottom end makes a great deal of sense, as the XO points are pushed well above and below our most sensitive hearing regions.

Hi Scott I think you must've misunderstood me.
My fault for putting full range in.
I meant full frequency, as I have seen a Kef Duette speker which just uses these two drivers.
I didn't think it was possible.

Hi-i had,for many years,the kef Kit3 speakers.

These had the B139 bass,B110 midrange,T27 tweeter.

I would think the combination you describe will be ill matched !

In the right conditions the B139 can provide "loadsa" bass, but i dont think it was ever really suitable for proper midrange.

I used to get confused with Kef numbers ! The B139 is the flat face "racetrack" driver.

The B110-T27 combination was quite common i believe from Kef and other manufacturers
