Billy Connolly recs.
just read a very good interview in the Observer with the Big Yin and would like to know if anyone can rec. any of his vinyl or CDs, there are quite a few.
Just looked him up on discogs and didn't realise that he a lot of vinyl/CDs some just stand-up and some a mixture of both music and stand-up.I'd like recs. on both. None of his stuff is expensive so I'd like to buy a few. |

Re: Billy Connolly recs.
Ali,
that's what I would have done if my old PC hadn't naffed on the sound card. I have a new mini PC which I havn't had the time to set up. Used to love his totally irreverent humour. Saw a film in which his grandchildren gave him a Viking funeral - hilarious. He also played a Druid wondering around a very small natural park in Glasgow, when I was 10 and on a month's holiday with my father's family I decided one day to go walk-a-bout from Maryhill into central Glasgow and found this wonderful place - this kind of freedom didn't exist for young Glasgow boys then - it got me sent home early. Sadly Billy now has Parkinson's and lives in Florida - it hasn't stopped him from using his usual language - good for him. To think he used to play in a folk duo with Gerry Rafferty. |

Re: Billy Connolly recs.
Yes Billy is great, one of Scotland’s national treasures. Such a shame about his illness.
