missing track
Hi,
anybody got a favourite way of repairing a pcb track that has lifted off the board completely for a good half inch leaving bare board. Thought I would have a go at repairing my "spare" board to use as a spare.

Re: missing track
Well I have Fixed broken tracks
The way I have was as follows If the brake is in the middle of a length of track tidy up the broken ends of the track so they can’t short out together cut a length of solid core wire and simply bridge the gap if it’s at the end of a track with a pin at the end I have removed the pin strip a bit of solid core wire and feed it through the pin hole from components side bend it back to the track a solder and trim so the solid core wire becomes the pin as well there may be better way thats just how i have gone about it in the past Hope that helps

Re: missing track
Hi I have a few to tidy up.
They are all with a component at the end. I also thought that if I bend some solid core to the shape of the track and solder it to the component and to a bared end of the track. Many thanks for confirming that this is feasible and adequate.

Re: missing track
Hi John
Yes do exactly that then hold the wires in place with a spot of hotmelt glue or preferably 5 minute "Araldite". Done many PCBs this way and it works a treat. John |
