WD25A speakers.
I'm a new member to the forum and am interested in the WD25A speakers.
At the moment I have the Marantz SA-15S1 CD player and PM-15S1 Amp Monitor Audio GR10 speakers. Do you think the kit speakers would be a improvement over the Monitor Audios? Thanks Alex |

The WD25's are very different to your speakers. The sound will come as quite shock. Do you find the metal cones aggressive? Personally I don't find Metal cones sound as natural as paper/pulp but those speakers I have heard with them have all had a well detailed presentation. Are you irritated by the ringing from the the cones, especially in female vocals? Or would you suffer this for the absolute potential for detail retrieval over music? I say this as Metal cones are supposedly the most detailed according to some, having said that the WD25's are extremely detailed, but totally unfatiguing with it. WD25's 10 inch drivers create a big clean sound a world away from your speakers and you may not be impressed on first hearing them if brought up on the propulsive one note punch of reflex (ported) models. |

Re: WD25A speakers.
Don't forget that if you're anywhere near Huntingdon, WD will be happy to demonstrate the WD25As and Ts, and I don't suppose they'd mind if you took your MAs along for comparison.
Of course, if you're in the north of Scotland, that won't be much use... |
