OT PC help
since my pc went pop last month and is too far gone to repair I've got to get a new one,
I'm looking to get a built up one from Novatech, does anybody have experience of them? what are the bits worth having, ie. dual core, big graphics, large hard drive, any ideas would be helpful thanks

Re: OT PC help
i've had an mp3 player and a flat screen monitor from novatech. service was very fast and i had no problems.
of course the right spec will depend on what you will be using the computer for if its just run of the mill stuff then you don't need anything too flash. i bought a bottom of the range pc recently and its been fine for me so far if you'll be storing music a large hard drive would be good, but you can always add another external one later my preference was to buy from a small ( not pc world type) local shop where i get friendly service and talk to someone face to face. the price was good too - £200 for a desktop base unit ( no monitor ) |

Re: OT PC help
no, your windows operating system and security software will use more resources than surfing or e-mail. any new computer will manage processing music and photos fine. processing/editing video is a bit more demanding.
if you're buying a new pc you should look at the vista thread as it will likley have windows new operating system 'vista' on it which has superceded windows 'xp' vista is more demanding of resources but any new pc supplied with vista on it 'should' be ok. i havn't used vista yet as i bought my pc just before it came out. not all the software written by companies has been made compatible with vista yet and this has been causing some problems for vista users |

Re: OT PC help
were talking Vista on all new computers, it's a bit of a problem there's stuff I've got like paintshop pro that might not work which could be a bummer,
this is the one I'm looking at http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...a.html?PC-1024
