Diamonds - Jet Harris and Tony Meehan.1963?
Credibility saved by the fact that backing guitar was played by one Jimmy Page...
And I was only 11.
6/3d it cost me. About 2 months pocket money.

When you say "album" do tapes count (that's what we called them, so much easier to spell than cassette too). If so I think it might have been ZZ TOP Deguello. First vinyl may have been ZZ TOP eliminator PICTURE DISC!! Remember those??:p

Cool Re: first Record you bought (could be Embarising)

First single was 'Son Of My Father' by Chicory Tip, bought in NEMS in the New Strand, Bootle, when i was just 7 years old. By the way, for those that care, Chicory Tip have reformed!
First album was a Trojan Records compilation called 'Blow Your Horn'. I had unusual tastes as a kid!

Although at the time I would have stubbed cigarettes out in my eyes before admitting it, I always loved the synth break...
