Obscure song query - Mendelssohn??

Dear all

this is an odd one. c.20 years ago one of the HiFi mags included a sampler CD. Track 6 (not sure why I recall this) was choral/religious music, by Mendelssohn I believe. It had a boys voice backed by a male choir. The CD may have come with HFNRR but could have been HFW. Anyone got the foggiest idea of what I am on about and the song title?
