Morel MDT29 Failure.
Is anyone familiar with this tweeter? If so, is there any cause of failure which is more likely than any other in an old unit (possibly 30ish years)?

Re: Morel MDT29 Failure.
I can’t help with your question and am not familiar with your MDT29, but if you are looking for a replacement, Falcon Acoustics have a good selection of Morel tweeters. If you phone or email Gerry, he may be able to recommend a drop in replacement. Of course, you may need to buy a pair.

Re: Morel MDT29 Failure.
Greg. Thank you very much for the suggestion. I've been playing on ebay again and have made a bit of a boo-boo of checking prices of bits before bidding. I'm optimistically hoping that the item might be repairable, but will certainly contact Falcon if it isn't,

It is normally one of the two fine coil wires that break. Bob

Oh, nothing to do with ferrofluid then. That's going to be a few bob if I get them.

Re: Morel MDT29 Failure.
Eddie, thirty years isn’t a bad life of use. Trying to get exact model replacements or even getting it repaired maybe a false economy. I would firstly consider whether you can get a drop in replacement with current production and if you can, go for that long before considering anything equally old from eBay.
