Kel84 LED
hi,
The LED in a loaned WD88 starts off red and ends up green whereas my Kel84 LED starts off green and turns red. The former is more logical so if I reverse the connections on my LED would it reverse it's colour sequence. cheers

Re: Kel84 LED
I'd think so, yes. just swap the 2 outer legs' connections. The LEDs in my pre3 and phono3 start off red, then change to green too.

Re: Kel84 LED
A quote from the manual if I may:
"When you first switch the amplifier on the LED will glow RED showing that the heater voltage is applied to the valves. As the valves warm up the LED will glow ORANGE and then finally YELLOW. At this point the amplifier is ready to use. Note that the amplifier may not reach its optimum performance for a further 15 minutes when all operating temperatures and voltages have stabilised. If the LED glows GREEN this is an indication that the heater voltage to the output valves has fallen below the recommended voltage. Do not use the amplifier until the fault has been rectified. If the LED glows RED this is an indication that the HT voltage to the output valves has failed or that the output valves are not conducting correctly. Do not use the amplifier until the fault has been rectified." Hope this helps? However!.... I find it difficult to distinguish between the green/yellow phase and I am not alone in this! Cheers, Mike. P.S. Hows the '88' with your 'Bariks' John? The KEL84 is sounding pretty fine at my house, there was one brief incident of the 'intermittent morse' thing which was very feint but It's refused to do it since. What a cracking little amp!

Re: Kel84 LED
hi Mike,
I'll let you know tomorrow when I reluctantly return it to you I'll post my findings after I have spoken to you. I have them written down. Suffice it to say that I have never heard the bass controlled so well in all my 25 years of Barik ownership. The 84 LED is as follows "from cold the led will glow green, heater ok. as they warm up change from green to yellow /orange HT ok. green led= ht fault. yellow/orange =warmed up and ready to use" Cheers
