6550 c23/24 & r47/48
I have been giving my 6550 a bit of attention and have been upgrading some of the capacitors.
I have come across C23/24 and R47/48 which are on the schematic but are not on the parts list or shown on the general arrangement diagram. Does anybody know anything about them? It seems to be some kind of bypass capacitor between the rectified power supply and the ECF80. The capacitor is a 100pF 630V and the resistor is a 15k and looks like a 1/4 watt. I thought I might replace them while I am there with a 100pF 630V polystyrene and a 15k 1/2 watt resistor. Is this a wise thing to do? |

Re: 6550 c23/24 & r47/48
They are in parallel with R15/16, feeding Anode P, looks like a filter and should be fine as is, the KIT / KAT 34 was the same curcuit but with C23/24 and R47/48 omited. Bob

They are a small "phase advance network" to improve stability at high frequencies. You do not need to change them for changes sake - leave well alone.

Thank you both. I'll restrain myself then.
