Unaccepted characters

Dear Admin. of this estimated board,
Since you have changed server for this website, it seems that "special" characters are no more accepted, such as "ç". Now, I was able to type it, but my user's name has been changed for something really weird: François
Is there a way to restore it in its original shape: François ?

I just noticed that the UK pound sign " £ " in old posts is written as " £ " , so something is definitely wrong somewhere=)

Thanks to Petercom, at least my problem has been solved.

There's nothing 'wrong', it is just that the import of the data into the new database has not submitted 'special characters' codes, like the £ sign.
