Default U2 The Joshua Tree

Just bought this re-release on vinyl. Two disks and it sounds great.

|I bought this on vinyl when it was first released. Was a horribly noisy pressing. Never really listened to it because of that.

I've got this on Vinyl, I think it is a gatefold sleeve, only one record though. I've not played it for years, but I don't remember loads of surface noise, it did sound sterile though, I was a bit disappointed, it had an "early cd" like sound.
Are there any extra tracks on the double LP version?
Mike.

No, it's exactly the same track listing, just on two heavy slabs of vinyl.

I don't understand Dan's comments though. I've heard two copies of this re-issue (one of them my own) and both sound awful!

It's like a vinyl MP3 album, compressed to oblivion. The original has MUCH better dynamics.

humm, guess I better give it another spin. Wont be listening to the original much due to unbelievably instrusive surface noise

I do actually know what you mean there. My copy's the same, it's not the only noisy U2 album either!

Oddly (?), it seem that several albums I've bought new recently are pretty noisy too. Maybe I should invest in a good record cleaning machine?

Cheers,
Mike.

Its a rubbish LP anyway, chuck it in the bin and dig out War and Boy, much better U2-age can be found there
