What's happened to Private Messaging?

Am I going mad? What's happened to the PM facility? I wanted to consult my stored messages but can't find them. I also wanted to send a message to Dave Cawley but can't find a way to do it. Am I missing something?

PM function is AWOL - so your sanity may be intact

The 'contact us' link at the bottom of the page has been disabled by the administrator. I presume therefore the absence of PM functionality is not an operational glitch but a management decision.

I guess Dave will still be contactable via his business addresses -

I think a week's notice by sticky would be reasonable so that those who have messages they wish to retain permanently have the opportunity to save them to their own systems.

I have talked with Matthew via PM about my concerns re recent happenings, and he gave me his phone number if I wanted to discuss things.

Fortunately, I still have the copy sent to my e-mail address with the phone number.

I think Dave has gone one LARGE step too far this time.

Dave, I have written a message for you that I did not want to make public. Well actually I would have preferred to make it public but realise it would have been subjected to extreme moderation immediately.

Dave, if you no longer want the PM function sobeit, but please can you restore the system for a few days so that those that need to can recover valuable information from their message boxes.

PS. Generally, the etiquette is that forum owners/moderators notify members in advance of intended changes. Please, please, please consult and learn how to, or maybe appoint someone, to manage this forum appropriately. At present, all you are doing is damaging your own and Matthew's business. You need to realise that this forum is not superfluous to 'Timestep' and most certainly is very essential for Matthew to make his WD business successful. At the moment you are damaging both of your companies. If you don't belive me, consult your own statistics on your daily viewers, most of whom don't contribute. Then consider how they network therafter. You seem to be bent on destruction! A stand at Heathrow this weekend is not a panacea. You and Matthew need this forum absolutely! Please make it work!
