Talking Diy Dac

Finished this a couple of months ago. It's built on an old WAD 6550 chassis. The designs are at:

I had to design and etch my own double sided output board to fit the valves into the 6550 chassis but everything worked first time and it sounds fab. I had been using a Rega Jupiter but the external DAC is a definite improvement. Everything much clearer and the music rocks. I can recommend this to anyone although I have not been able to compare it to any other designs yet. I estimate it cost me about £400 including valves with the custom HT TX being the most expensive item with the Audio note caps and tant resistors coming in a close second. The components from Tent labs were very reasonable £160.
