Garrard 401 Paint
Aaron previously asked what paint was used and how to remove it for a re-paint.
Aaron, I don't know the exact make-up of the paint used but I suspect it's Cellulose. I would suggest you don't remove the paint. Two reasons, Firstly: 401s (& 301s) chassis are cast. If you strip the paint off you are likely to be left with a lot of pits in the casting which may cause you problems when painting. I would therefore suggest you flatten and tidy up the existing paintwork, prime it and respray. Secondly: It's an alloy chassis, painting bare ally is not impossible but can present its own problems. best wishes Darren (Incase anyones wondering, the "little boys" have been around the corner and had a "little chat" ) |
