Default Looking for a second hand KEL84 - how much should I expect to pay?

Hi everyone - I am keen to buy a second-hand KEL84 and would be interested to know what sort of price I should be paying for a mint//very good//good condition amp to help me gauge prices.

I was thinking between £300.00 for mint to £200.00 for good.

Am I out of line with this? Too much? Too little? (Anyone got one spare? )

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

Best Wishes
David

I might be pursuaded to sell mine; haven't finally decided. Whereabouts in the UK are you? I'd prefer to sell locally (I'm in the west of Scotland) so that buyer can see/hear it first.

I'm in North Yorkshire, so some way from Scotland, I'm afraid.

Where in North Yorkshire are you?.... I'm just on the North York's/Cleveland border and you're welcome to have a listen to my WD88. There's another forum member who lives fairly close who has a KEL84 too, it maybe a bit out of order to 'volunteer' him without asking first, but it's probably possible to arrange something.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hi guys. Apologies for being off the forum for a long time.
We are in the middle of some fairly serious home improvements and it means theres just no time to pursue diy stuff.
Anyway, good to see you there Shian. The mention of KEL84 and WD88 got me thinking again and we should get the things together for a biamping experiment?
And If anyone has the same curiosity as me, I wouldn't mind comparing the Vintage sound of my Leak Stereo20 to a KEL84.
Might be a while away if it was to take place here as the place is about to disappear in a heap of brick dust . hopefully in a couple of months the listening room will be back together.
Andy.

Hi Andy,

Just stumbled on this post and yeah, definitely still interested in the bi-amping experiment. Maybe we should try it at both our 'places' when your building work is completed? Good luck with it.

Cheers,
Mike.

P.S. BTW, I'd get your sparky to put in a dedicated spur while he's working for you. It's not something I'd do on it's own (cost), but if he's there, why not!
