I thought I paid less than that,

perhaps they've suffered the price hike along with other Hammond stuff

OK. Cheers Philip, Ian and David.

I will hold back for now, give the Danbury and Walsall (RS) traffos a miss and put the Hammonds on the "wanted" list and give them a go in a few weeks.

I am in the process of sorting out the CD50 at the moment, so don't really want to shell out on the traffos as the PSEs are working OK at the moment. It is just something I have been meaning to address for a couple of years now, so a few more weeks wont matter. Thanks for everyone's input anyway.

David, did you notice any heater hum on your Loftin White or did you DC it ?

Cheers,

Hi Lee
no, they're AC and there's no hum with them,
the thing is to get tx as close to the valves as possible,

don't know if you can see them on this photo

Nice build David. Thanks for the info. That makes me feel a little better knowing that others that have used separate TXs, have no hum. Definitely a little project for the future.

Cheers,

Hi Lee,

would this be any use to you? http://www.thepippin.plus.com/TXs/DSCF0016.JPG http://www.thepippin.plus.com/TXs/DSCF0017.JPG

it has the following windings:

1 x 1v 9A
2 x 2v 9A
1 x 5v 9A
2 x 10v 3A
1 x 10v 4.5A

I've wired it up and it measures correctly off-load, but I haven't tried giving it a load.

Total load 90VA.

If it's any use, drop me a PM.

It would be nice to know if fitting these transformers would actually cure the hum
I have a pair you are welcome to borrow to see if its worth doing.

Hi Shane.

Phew!! Now that's what I call a transformer!! It looks rather large and has a good selection of LV outputs. Unfortunately I would need two of them as I have monoblocs, so in a word, no, it's not really suitable for my requirements. Many, many thanks for the very kind offer though.

Nick.

Many thanks for the kind offer also. You have PM.

Cheers all,
