Dropping something on the floor and not being able to find it,how comes things always roll or bounce the opposite way to what you think ?

Finding something you lost just after you have got a replacement.

Putting a component,or tool down for a moment then not being able to find it.

I guess I should say actually making stuff?
I don't hate building, it's just that the thoughts and concepts that go into
a project is much more important and fun to me than the building.
Breadboarding is also fun, but I don't think I've ever finished
anything.... it's allways modified before I get that far....

Anybody tried doing a really accurate mitre cut down the long edge of a 75in board, without the benefit of £15,000 worth of huge sliding table-saw?

Actually, what I really dislike is the dearth of decent quality plywoods, hardwoods and large sheets of veneer (available in 8'x4' in the US) in the UK. On the rare occasions you can find something of good quality, and in the size you need, rather than something which would struggle to make a decent drawer-front, it tends to cost more than the panelling that went into the Titanic.

Yes, and the aforementioned saw table would be a nice little tool to have in the workshop......Now where did I put the plane.....

Planning everything based on a particular component, designing the layout, ordering all the bits, building most of it up...then finding out a major component is "No longer available".......

Don't yer just hate that..???!!!

Getting the SP10 template, laying everything out, working out tonearm positioning, swinglines etc, then giving it to a friend whose into woodworking and wants to do the job, then 6 months later he hasn't found time to do it. Why didn't I just pay the laser cutters the $160 they wanted to cut the two sheets and be done with it.?

(Sorry, but thats about as close to DIY as I get - at least as far as woodworking goes. After laying a floating timber floor I well know how hard it is to do a perfect long cut)
