Re: Colin Wonfor
Ah, I'm afflicted the other way, sometimes I spend so long deciding the best or most correct way of saying something that I forget what I was on about...
now what were we on about hobbies, hifi has never been work for me, just a hobby for 40 years since getting the parents old valve radiogram going again as a kid. No formal lessons, books and magazines, now the web, as and when, build things and understand them. One of those old friends you can catch up with anytime along with photography, bikes, motorbikes and cars, boys toys, something to relax with or ticking away in the background |

Re: Colin Wonfor
Your French must be better than mine the other 2 are good thanks! So much stuff out there now isn't there. It does seem long ago Mike H was writing in the Maplin mag of the difficulties finding correct info on the Mullard 5-20 and Peter Q was advertising to buy any valve literature of interest. Now we can just google it...

I'm so glad that this is now all sorted. I was beginning to wonder if there might not have been some connection to be made with blue suede shoes - you know, "Wonfor the money, two for the show, three to get ready . . . ." It became such an all-engrossing matter that I set one of my organ students to writing a four part, fully invertible fugue on "There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis". He didn't manage it but with grammar like that, it's hardly surprising. I do wish people would not create these unsettling confusions. Old Baggo. |
