Peter opened my eyes to a sad point in another thread.

In theory 3 ways sound better than 2 ways and I guess 2 ways should sound better than 1 way. However for every extra driver you have the difficulty to intergrate them properly increases by a very large factor.

The sad truth being that it's not very often that a 3 ways is designed and made properly. 2 ways a little more often as they are alot easier.

Hello Cobblers,

'Do my posts come over as arrogant or over opinionated?' yes

'Damn, I made them sound **** in my description.' yes

& as any fule no, they aren't that bad

Aha, so AMTs! (PLanet10) 3 ways are difficult, I am told, and have never tried. I have tried bi-wiring Heil and bass unit - waste of time - and now use the AMT1E crossover (that came from a chap in Germany).

Has anyone got Mangers? !!!

I am completely satisfied with these speakers and if I had no others that would be fine. Not to say there aren't tweaks to do and tweaks have so far involved new surrounds on the bass cones, new cabinets for the ESS monitors(still not finished off), a new ribbon, three different types of crossover and ...

never mind.

Then again, the single driver. yeah I know.

I usually tend to build single-driver systems. I've no problem with crossovers per se; it's just that there aren't many good ones. I also like the point source that only FR drivers or co-ax units can give.

Good!

Sorry, don't mean to be like this, clearly have to tread carefully around other peoples opinions.

I've never heard Mangers either.

I've heard one set of Mangers. I don't think they were representative of what is possible thou. they were terrible.
