Re: what are you listening to now
Yup, it's good but I reckon WP's has the edge on the covers frontage.
But even more important is that their own stuff is sooper fab. Check 'Short Skirt, Long Jacket' and 'Never There'. Rock/Pop music of the purist form. Fun, original and organic. DTB

Re: what are you listening to now
Hmm, I just wandered into the house and heard the sound coming out of the radio, FWIW, (looking at the BBC's web page) thats was just "Roger Hodgson of Supertramp" I would hope John would have had more sense than being involved with the horrible noise I heard.

Re: what are you listening to now
I hope there's a better sound balance in the stadium than the BBC are achieving

Re: what are you listening to now
Sound balance is alot better on Radio 2 compared to the TV. Doesn't change the fact that some acts are dire and terribly out of tune on vocals. Says alot about studio technology that can sharpen or flatten the voice to get it in tune. Status Quo were apalling. The same three cords were ok but the vocals awful. Anyway, interesting that we are apparently starting to follow the Eastern way and worship our dead ancestors.

Ironically the Music tutor I studied Bass guitar with at Goldsmiths in Lundun went for the audition to be bassist for ST back in the 70's. He didn't get the job. A lucky escape he reckoned in hindsight. I think he was just saying that to be cool. I'm sure he'd have made more money and he'd deffo not had have to put up with me for 2 years being class anorak/geek/swot. I've had some wine and medication, I should be OK soon.... thanks for your concern though DTB

Re: what are you listening to now
A shopping trip to Lundun Village yesterday took us to HMV in Oxford Street (near the duck pond and the bric a brac shop).
They sell new Vinyl there as mentioned in HFW a few issues back. I walked out with a 180gm 'Audiophile' copy of 'Lick my Decals off, Baby' by CB+TMB and 'Volta' by Bjork on 2x12" LP's also on HD virgin vinyl. Thats the first brand new Vinyl I've bought since the Brand New Heavy's debut LP on Acid Jazz records from a Dance music specialists in Gravesend in Kent about 1989/90-ish I think. So thats what I was listening to just a while ago. I've bought a lot of charity/2nd hand stuff since building the ID TT though but Saturday was the first proper new purchases in a long time. DTB
