phono II clone ccs load
So, I finally bought some transistors (BSP135) for the 1st stage ccs. These are small, but manageable - barely.
I also bought some transistors (BSS139) to use as ccs under the 3rd stage CF. Well, I’ve got to say I figured RS forgot to put the transistors in the packaging. That is until I got out my electron microscope and found the little ******s (almost a whole 2.9mm across). I still can’t believe that I actually made a little fixture (a few wires and a 10 turner) to test these little guys. I felt like I was moving quarks around. God knows how I am going to put it all together? Maybe I can find out next weekend? Lesson learnt – valves are bigger than a grain of sand, which can be a very good thing. Dan |
