Milestones record label - great pressings!
Hi
I'm new to this forum but thought I would chime in with a few comments about great vinyl. I'm famialir with the whole debate about the quality of the vinyl used for the pressing, vinyl weight, country of manufacture etc, but there is one label that not many people are familiar with that seemed to produce great vinyl in the 70s - Milestone. Milestone was disributed by Fantasy records and largely focussed on latin jazz fusion serving such artists as Flora Purim, Cal Tjader, Airto etc. If you find original releases they tend to be superb quality with excelent production values, and sound great on your turntable. For example, I use the album Goldenwings by the group Opa to test my system. Just thought I would mention it. Cheers, Enrico |
