Funny init,

Back to the RAC, I've moved my insurance and I need my NCB proof,

Phone them up, on hold for a half hr till I hang up

Phoned back the quote line, answered straight away, wrong dept, put on hold.............................................. ................................................
eventually
"Sorry systems down can you call back"

Never, never, never, again will the RAC get my money, I've had nothing but grief with them, shower of puppets !!!!


On another note,

have a 3 mobile contract,
Got a call from a debt collecting company today,
Apparently my payment are in arrears !!!

Call 3, no problem with them, my acc is fine

Call back debt company,
"Your acc is in arrears",
"no it's not, called 3 and they have no issues with my acc"
"sorry we have an order to collect and we are not allowed to call 3"
"what !!! you can't call your client"
"no"
"what happens then"
"you pay or we issue a court summons"
"I don't owe them anything"
"we have the order and intend to collect"

Etc etc ect

I got nowhere.

Yeah, like banging your head against a brick wall with these people.

FedEx are pursuing me for import duty on a consignment of jewellery bought by an African geezer called Alan who lives on the other side of London. They won't have it that he is nothing to do with me.

Hi all,
I know that this is small consolation to those of you being pursued, but a legal friend of mine who worked for the newspapers offered the following advice.
When you receive the offending piece of paper, as long a you are absolutely sure that you are squeaky clean, write something rude, offensive, whatever on in in large red capitals and, along with a short covering letter, post it registered private and confidential to the MD.
"The higher up you take the **** the more it spreads out on the way down".
It doesn't always work but I and others have had some pretty fast results from this, including one that offered to have the offending department open at any time for the customer to wreak revenge on them.
Publicity in newspapers is also another route but can be a bit of pot luck.
The biggest problem appears to be that it is never ever anybody's fault at the company concerned.
I am having a few problems with CPC at present but that is another rant.

After this, I know I am a fine one to talk but I feel we should stop these tales of woe and get back to the original thread of cheap car insurance

Well, I found that doing it through the owners' club was the cheapest, for minis and saabs anyway.

If you have ever worked for a public sector organisation (including contracting) then it could well be worth joining the CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association). They are pretty liberal on accepting applications nowadays and relatives can recommend you if you don't qualify yourself. I get quotes through them from Frizzells and I have stopped getting alternative quotes now as the best anyone else has done is match it.

There is also a very competitive (on price and service standard) breakdown insurance available which covers you for any vehicle you are travelling in and various levels of cover/price. My wife used it for instance when our daughter's car broke down.
