Re: My own phono/line 6n2p/6n6p/6sn7 preamplifier, called "premier one"
It's all too depressing. My amps don't look anything like this. They are a total mess inside and out. I mean, here I am thinking that my new 'pride and joy' doesn't look that bad and it sounds pretty good and then this cool piece swans by without so much as a 'by your leave'.
Steve the Shaddow keeps outdoing himself for style and elegance. At least I could smile and at yet appreciate his candid honesty about this mistake and that question. But what am I to do, hating drilling, cutting, filing, and bleeding over everything when yet another snazzy number pokes its head above the parapet. I mean, it really is too much. |

Andrew, we can't all achieve the elegance that Pascal's and Steve's designs have. In the face of such an onslaught of talent the only sensible thing to do is........ .........shut your eyes and listen. If it sounds right , it is right and bother the WAF requirement! Pascal. As you can see we are very envious of the appearance of your preamp - are the circuit and listening notes on your website? I was very interested in your modifications to, and notes about, your KAT 88. Jerry |

Hi Andrew
During your depths of depression don't forget that it was yourself among others that inspired me to start building in the first place and if it had not been for your support etc I would not have been able to achieve the results I have. Think of me as a student done good. Pascal What a fantastic set of gear and a great website Steve.

Hello,
thank you very much to all For the chassi, I use hammond aluminium chassi http://www.tubetown.de/ttstore/index...44-Series.html and a front panel from schaeffer http://www.schaeffer-ag.de/index.php...age&Itemid=205 For holes, it's easy with screw hole punches http://www.tubetown.de/ttstore/index...o---Tools.html The schematic is here http://www.ptsoundlab.com/tubes/prea...eronephono.htm Cordially Pascal |
