Ok..shunt mod completed at the staggering cost of 26p
 Not an earth shattering improvement but worthwhile non the less, a definite (but slight) increase in detail and 'air'. I must say any decrease in sensitivity is all but undetectable and has been more than offset by upping the output of my universal player from -3dB to 0dB. 12 o'clock position is perfect for 'normal' listening and it still goes pretty loud if I lean on the volume control. I'm quite happy with that  Cheers, Mike.
