Hi Ian,

I only have a PREii converted to cathode follower circuit, so can't make a comparison.

Have just noticed this on Ebay though - with one bid,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...2161&rd=1&rd=1

Is it me or are some of the older design WAD amps begining to increase in value? What was the original selling price of the klpp1?

I know another recent thread highlighted a possible record high price of a WAD amp!

Regards

Mike.

'umble opinion, but I am glad I have a Pre2 & phono. My feeling was that KLpp1 was a bit 'closed in and veiled'. I really didn't like the power supply either, but this is a bit like saying what my favourite coupling capacitor is; Mundorff .... probably!

you've had several haven't you Ian?

I've still got mine, Andrew just about has the sound nailed.

The Phono stage is not as good as PhonoII, it sounds slightly shut in and 'thick' in comparison. It's no good for low o/p MC, stepup TX are needed but there's no room inside to fit any!

The pre stage is not that bad TBH, I quite like it. It has a slight bass boost and a switchable LF filter. 350 notes though is more than I would want to pay...
