Re: balls
I've come in here very late, and I apologise if I'm off topic or repeating something not worth repeating ...
Has anyone used glass balls as isolating material? ... I used to have a tt base sitting on 3/4" playing marbles ... it seemed OK. At present I have a subwoofer (enormously heavy) sitting on 4 billiard balls ... that seems to be OK too (but given the mass of the box, there probably wouldn't much apparent difference if it were mounted on small furry animals) ALF:p |

Re: balls
I've used marbles right size and readily available following a raid on son's bedroom. Worked for me, but equipment sort of falls off shelf if not careful.

Re: balls
Yeh - originally I semi secured the marbles in place by attaching beer bottle tops (Coopers Ale) to the bottom of the base and locating the marble in them ... Later I made indents for about 1/3 of the marble using a large countersink type bit - you need to be careful of sudden sideways bumps though
