Default Noisy 6922's in phono stage

I am a fan of the 6922 aka E88CC due to their frame grid construction which usually results in close intra-valve matching and between valves with the same date code. Also I have been very happy with the JAN-PHILLIPS 6922's which are easily available from most sources and have used them in various cascode stages in place of small pentodes.

I've just finished a phono stage using 6922's and had fitted the Jan-Phillips ones, but found them to be very noisy and incredibly microphonic (tried 6 different valves - all the same). I then tried a couple of "HARMA VINTAGE 6922's that were supplied form Watford Valves and the difference was quite amazing. Much less noise and absolutely no microphony even when the valves were tappped quite hard!! So the conclusion from this story is that I won't be using JAN-PHILLIPS ones again. Also need to find some other varieties that are as quiet as the Watford Valves ones but not as expensive.

I like the look of the philips valves, they look really nicely made, but from a few, ecc82, 6922, 5687, they all seem to sound dull and boring compared to others.
