Have listened to the proac 140 & D15 (on SS not valve though) was not impressed with 140, D15 sounded ok - may have another listen.

Harbeth 7 - thought about these - even contacted company but they have no dem facilities and cannot find a dealer with one - 95% of product goes abroad.

Quad ESL - would love a pair but don't have the room.

not too bothered about real high SPL's as long as I can get it 'resonably loud' (have also got a Cyrus 8 - currently used as a headphone amp driving AKG's from speaker terminals)
