I also use solely papst fans and i have about a dozen or so running in my pc's workstations etc. for years now and never heard any increase in sound!

Maybe that's why papst almost don't sell ballbearing fans anymore but sleeve bearing ceramic fans.

make sure you clean your pc case ones in a while so it is dust free!

Mine are running for years and i hardly hear em at all!
