They look tasty.
Even with shipping the prices seem good.
point taken on prices of casework being a large proportion of the price, I have heard this from someone who works for a manufacturer of electrical equipment also.
I guess my point should have said, that once I have a circuit that does the business for me then i think its worth spending money on presentation of the finished item. After all its got to live on the rack with all the other stuff!

These look great - but does anyone know of a supplier for similar quality but taller cases? I want to put a bigger Tx inside than the current height allows from this supplier

All

I would still be interested in being able to buy some blank WD boxes to match the PRE3/PSU3 as suggested at the head of this thread.
The new aluminium chassis is IMHO so much better than the old WAD steel chassis. The new front panels also look a lot nicer with the recess for the volume control or switch.

Perhaps we should ask Peter to comment on the possibility?

regards, Nick

I'm with Nick.
I appreciate that the cost might seem high to some, but the opportunity to have my homebrew in a matching case to my 88VA May well make it worth my while.
As I posted previously it isnt all about saving money at all costs other factors apply for me.
A.

How big do they go?
Are they like the Hammond cases Maplins sell?
The maplin range stops before a size big enough to take a decent frame or even toroidal transformer for PSU. Their biggest Case is just big enough to build a simple Valve linestage, but not for me to build a PSU in another case.
Cheers.
