Talking Re: Hello, can someone help me?

Thank you

Two things were wrong :-

I think I had left one of the diode stems too long and it may have been touching the chassis

and

I had wired the volume pot the wrong way around!!! Doh!

Some serious late night listening planned ce soir!!!

Regards

Richard

Hi Richard
Well thats good, now you are on the slippery slope, you'll be doing a lot of pot wiring, and hunting in junk shops for useful valve bits, it's only a matter of time before a Kel84 or 88 kit is needed to hit the spot. Don't fight it: give in! you know it makes sense.

Welcome onboard.
Terry.

Hi Richard
Welcome to the delights of Valve audio don’t be in a big hurry too sell your cyrus stuff off if you can try to borrow a valve Pre.Amp and hook it up to your Cyrus amp you may well be surprised as the results

Colin

Mmmm...funny you say that as I did wonder whether my Cyrus Pre amp was the weak link and how mono'd power amps might sound on the end of something more esoteric!
