Cable and Phono options?
Hi All,
My first post on the new board I'm currently looking for an appropriate cable that I could use inside a turntable. The deck is an LP12 so unfortunately many cables are not suitable as they interfere with the suspension. It needs to be quite slim and suitable for 0.5m length flying leads outside of the deck to std phono plugs. Has anybody any good suggestions as most cable seems to be too stiff/wide and inflexible or poorly specced... Has anybody any suggestions? (A while back Richard mentioned RS 367-246 for another project, any use?) BTW in terms of phono plugs I have previously used the Shark range that Maplin sell any other offers that arent too pricey? Thanks, Matthew |

Re: Cable and Phono options?
You could do a lot worse than trying a set of the amusingly named Emporiwire interconnects from the Emporium.....Nick makes these up himself, and they are vastly better than the nasty piece of wire supplied as standard,as well as easy to fit.
They are a little on the stiff side, but very slim and easy to dress properly under the LP12 without fouling the suspension, and as I said, way better than what mine came with...BTW,if you havent done this before, you will need a very small Allen key to unlock the old cable from the arm pillar mount at the bottom of the arm before trying to remove the old cable...if I remember a 1.3mm key. www.emporiumhifi.com |
