Default KEL84 build pin location

Hi all

Am a newbie to the valve arena and recently took delivery of a KEL84 kit. I'm in the process of assembling and notice that in the instructions, section "A Guide to Populating the PCB", it first indicates to insert all the pins into the tabs, 1 to 26. No problem there, but the printed circuit board tab diagram shows a location for "tab 5" not pointing to a hole, or anything that's relevant.

So the question is, where does pin/tab 5 go?

Hi Ricardo,

The main text and the labels on the diagram on page 9 in my set of KEL84 instructions refers to 26 pins. However, the text above the diagram on Page 9refers to 27 pins. Neither is correct, because the Tab 5 label on the diagram points to empty space. I believe there is no Tab 5. This gives a total of 25 pins.

You need to be aware that the instructions contain a number of errors and inconsistencies. If in doubt ask the forum (as you have done here) or
call World Designs and ask for clarification. They need to know where the problems are before they can fix them. They were unfailingly patient and helpful to me.

You also need to be aware that the instructions were inherited from World Audio Designs (WAD), and I believe that WD intends to re-write them once it can find the time.

Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

thanks for reply.

Your right, the diagram does say 1-27. I just ticked off all the points marked tab and followed on that way, so only initially noticed the 26...... or 25 !

Have you finished your amp?
