Re: suppliers list
Hi Ian,
What is your criteria for deciding when a "little bitsy" company is big enough to become a major one? Number of customers? Number of outlets? Product range? Etc, etc.... who knows? Remember some small companies can often be as good if not better than the big players, and some big companies can give poor service. We already have a list, so why not just look here, might give you some ideas, and avoid duplication. http://www.wduk.worldomain.net/forum...splay.php?f=34 Don't forget World Designs, and also that you can buy virtually anything from Ebay! Re: suppliers list
What is the point of duplicating what is already recorded as a list of suppliers in this forum section?
What is your criteria for a new list that differs from what we already have? Maybe you need to be more specific to qualify your thread or maybe you just need to read what is already here. |

Re: suppliers list
Criteria?
to pull many into one thread of large MAJOR suppliers, instead of having to trawl through pages of individual ones. Please read carefully Greg, not the same as small ones and recommendations. BIG ones Please keep to topic and don't pollute thread. Product range I suppose is the intention here. Wide range under one ceiling. |

Re: suppliers list
I don't see the point of listing again, what has already been listed.
It's hardly a big task to scroll through the existing list and if necessary, write the names on a bit of paper ! Philip

Re: suppliers list
Why?
Why? Why? Why? I think that answers, or rather questions all your points. No pollution incurred. Complicating a previously well constructed section amounts to the same as polluting a thread anyway. Clearly you are a bureaucrat at heart |

Re: suppliers list
Logic needs to take a turn here. What is the difference between posters adding their favoured suppliers details into your thread on a post by post basis when the section is set up to exactly accomplish that albeit on a thread by thread basis. Either way you're going to need to scroll through. Your thread, however, lends itself to information being added without justification for the claim to promote the supplier in question whereas when each supplier suggested has it's own thread, detail on that suppliers available stock and service delivery can be readily included in the thread.
The bottom line is your thread (if patronised) will produce an elongated list of suppliers with no attached credability. What is already registered here is exactly a list with suitable endorsements so readers and potential purchasers can order in confidence. As said, duplication in another form is often very inadequate and amounts to nothing more than bureaucracy. I've spent the last 35 years in an occupationally bureaucratic environment and I'm about to get out........hooray |
