Hi-i now don't have to use the "blue" with Firefox as everything seems to work with the "green" now !

Well done.

Mornin' Moose,

Sounds like you're into vinyl so do get a listen to the Pre3 and Phono3. I'm recently returned to LPs, tried several other phono and preamps but am still amazed by these

Now then, can you get the missing New Posts link back onto the top of the non-signed-in page please, as mentioned here, posts 12, 15, 17, in another thread,

http://wduk.worldomain.net/forum/sho...?t=4622&page=2

Many thanks!

Morning Richard

Got that link working again - also removed the "fake" quick links link that looses all quick links.

I listen to the PRE3 and PHONO3 stages regularly and they are nice!!!

I tell you, I recently bought Dire Straits Money For Nothing (45 single - original 80's vinyl too). I listened to this with Peter for the first time, and I tell you we were both amazed at how much more detail there was. Of course this was the PRE3 and PHONO3S ;-)

Cheers

Thanks Moose!

Interesting that, I just bought a copy of Dire Straits first album on vinyl. I already have it as original CD release and the Sony remastered CD version. Comparing vinyl with both CDs shows it to have more detail in that first format. OK, more noise, more hiss, slightly less dynamics, but definitely more detail and more depth to the presentation. What I thought was a good CD is almost 2 dimensional compared with the LP.

Now then, I'd already done similar comparisons (real time switching between LP and CD both playing in sync) with other records. One reviewers favourite is Tracy Chapman's first album and with that there is very little difference, the mid is a little smoother and fuller on my LP setup but little else apart from that. That album is later than the Dire Straits and is a digital recording which begs more questions.

Exactly our reasoning - the CD being almost 2D (i think between us we even came up with that exact phrase!!!)

I have switched CD to LP to Computer (itunes - high quality rip off CD with error fixing etc) (this particular test was with the DS) and I found the CD to be marginally better than the computer, but the LP to be light years ahead!

Cheers
