So what pre amp are you using? Could a Quad 33 be used. Forgive the silly questions but I have a Kel 84 which I bought already built. Would be nice to try it with a pre amp with phono stage. Are you saying Dave that maybe Kel 84s pre amp is not the best or up to the standard of the power amp itself?Or just that you have found something that seems to work better?

Kel84 has no pre-amp, well, not really, its all passive.

The quad would work but there not very highly regarded.

Look great though

I dont know how suitable the quad would be for the kel84, if you already have both though its only 2 resistors to change and try it out.

As you can see I know nothing about electronics. Before I saw this forum I thought Ohms Law was a tv detective series......
