I guess that, because the Gallery is not a forum as such, the Forum Jump has 'nowhere to go' and therefore points to the top of the tree.

Members may also notice that, if they have set a reading preference for Threads to show 'Linear Newest First' (instead of the standard Oldest First) in their Control Panel Options the gallery pics don't show correctly where there are messages accompanying a picture, but show as thumbnails instead. This is because the Gallery is a kluge of the BB thumbnail extension. Clicking on the thumbnail will show the picture in a fullsize window.

BTW I increased the file size and image dimensions recently to allow the posting of slightly higher definition pictures. The instructions for posting a picture to the gallery show these changes.

Quite a few of the images have started discussions in the Gallery (Vision On anyone?!) using the 'comment' facility.

The 'proper' forums display a different icon whenever there is a new post that has not been read. Is there any way that the Gallery can indicate that a new comment has been posted against any of the images?

The number of comments is shown under the picture in the Gallery heading. Other than that you'll have to click on the menu item New Posts.
