Re: Claritycap mr

In particular I did not like Sonicaps (very zingy upper mids) and the ICW Audio ones from Maplin sound fat and coloured. The best value ones I have found are Wilmslow Supersound, these sound pretty even handed to me. I won't be trying the new Clarity MR (MaxRip-off), I don't care how good they are. I tried external crossovers and could hear no difference, so my XOs are inside the speaks. I also tried Noel's recommendation of putting the XO near the amp and biwiring - sounds slightly different but not any better IMHO.. |

Re: Claritycap mr
I was looking for a pair of 0.47uF caps so was following this thread with interest having included Clarity/Soniqs types in my shortlist. Having gone to the Wilmslow Audio site, I see their's only start at 0.68uF. Would this make a noticeable/audible difference?

Re: Claritycap mr
Ah, ok Al, I just remembered Ansar also used the supersound name. I have some of those black ones like yours, tried them for coupling in Kit88 a while ago, light and airy sounding, didn't suit then but a useful flavouring sometimes no doubt
