Help 6h30 line stage.
Hi All,
This is my first post and I am yet to plumb the true depth of my ignorance so please be patient with me, I have been using a Pre11 and 300b pse for several years now and been fairly happy, recently though the dreaded bug bit and my long serving kls3’s were replaced with more efficient full rangers, I now have much too much system gain. I’ve tried the shunt mod on the volume control without much success. So……I’ve collected the parts for an Aikido style cathode follower using 6h30’s, I would like to compare this to the original Pre11 powering both from the Psu11 (not simultaneously) Could anyone please suggest the best way to convert the unused phono B+ output to run this cathode follower, would this be possible? looking at the Aikido data I need a total of about 40ma @ 200v would changing the phono dropper resistor to 3k 8w give me the 200v I need? (I really must learn this stuff) Any help or suggestions would be grateful appreciated Thanks Spresto9 |
