Wad 6550 gets new sockets
I have just replaced the 9 pin sockets in my wad 6550 power amp with Connex Teflon tube sockets, their build consists of the following 24-karat gold-plated over OFC Copper "machined" pins Socket body "machined" from pure TEFLON.
With a few hours "burn in" these well made sockets gave a clear improvement, making for more detail and a cleaner sound. Having gold plated pins on the tubes it made sense to carry that through into the sockets. Chris... |

Re: Wad 6550 gets new sockets
And what have you got your sockets soldered to? Copper or Ag wire?!?!? A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
