Hi Martin, It may depend on the current drawn, what's it powering? Many of us have used them in 1A bridges without sinks, if more have a check on the data sheet

Hi Richard,
They're replacing BR1, the W04/8, in the 300B PSE. It's something I've been meaning to do for quite some time but I'm only just getting round to it. I've set the 4 diodes out on a board but can't see how I could fit heat sinks to them.

Hi Martin,
Yes no problem, it only draws a few mA. Here's a similar bridge I made with them for main ht in Kit88 which was supplying 300mA no problem.
Do be careful with the mounting tags btw as they are live so keep each isolated.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for that, I've just finished the upgrade and I'm well pleased, not a big difference but subtle and noticeable.
I've had quite a few problems with the 300B PSE, about six months after I upgraded with Black Gates one of the monoblocs went off song (this was whilst I was living in Cyprus). John Caswell was very helpful getting me checking that I'd got all the electrolytic caps the right way round but I didn't pick up the problem until after I'd wrecked two 300Bs and burnt the mains tranny out (Graham at Grandchain was most helpful in supplying a new one). One of the BGs had gone and shorted the heater winding to earth, that's the second or third BG I've had trouble with!
Anyway all is well now and I've no more immediate plans to to any more upgrading but I will replace C7/8/9 & 10 sometime in the future.
Best wishes
Martin

Hi Jake,
Thanks for the reply, Richard doesn't think that heat sinks are needed and I'm listening to the music at the moment which seems to indicate that he was right.
Get John to get you a bone for the help!
Best wishes
Martin
