Tedeschi Trucks Band - The Revelator
This was a very nice surprise. A mate picked it up in the States on vinyl. If you can imagine catchy, sludgy Southernish rock, a slightly less gravelly Bonnie Riatt voice, some nice tasteful licks ( I was going to say Clapton/Layla-like), a dash of Hammondish organ, two drummers and the original Allmann Bros bass player plus a touch of funk on the 4th side - you´ve got it. At least have a listen on Spotify.

Many thanks for this recomendation this is not really my kind of music but it is very much the taste of one of my friends and has enabled me to find the best sort of christmas gift a CD of new music .
