Neil Armstrong dies
I have just heard on the radio that Neil Armstrong has passed away.
A sad day.

Re: Neil Armstrong dies
A very sad day-most certainly yes.
But don't fail to be inspired by what he achieved in his lifetime as an engineer first and foremost and as a torch bearer for the human spirit-utterly remarkable-surely an example to all of us. R.I.P Neil Armstrong 1930-2012 |

I remember a long time ago, his mother, facing a battery of newspapermen with their customarily inane questions, was asked if she ever imagined her son one day would become an astronaut and the first to walk on the moon. I believe her response was "No - I just wanted him to be a good and useful person." She could hardly have been disappointed. He was a very remarkable man. |
