Question KEL84 choke options/upgrades?

Has anyone experimented with changing their chokes in the KEL84 amp to lower power supply noise?
I've reduced the feedback a little, and I can now hear a low level noise I assume is from the power supply. It's not loud enough to be a problem, but I figure clean power is better power right?

Tentlabs make a fancy E-Choke which Guido assures me would work really well in this circuit, but it's not particularly cheap at £60 inc vat

Do you reckon an upgraded choke with it's smoother, lower noise power delivery would be a worthwhile upgrade in this amp and are there any other options for better chokes I could swap in?

Or would Polyprop power supply bypass caps deal with most of this noise?

thanks,
James

I have used a high voltage type transistor as a regulator, works fine in my valve amp

Have you got a part number or link handy so I could see what you mean please?

No part number its one I made up myself, parts depend on were you are going to use it, best results are implemented in the first stage were hum and noise are critical the regulator isolates the first stage from the main power supply or you can use it instead in the phase splitter plus the first stage.
