An electronics friend raised another issue. On the circuit

The amp input capacitor has a resistor (100k) running to ground, he suggested that if I hook up a pot on the input I'll effectively create a low pass filter. I'm not sure i'm good enough an electronics calculations to understand that.

Although i think somebody further up this thread suggested ditching that cap altogether.

THoughts?
