just bumping this up.
Stuart have you had a listen to the PLZ yet?
I have to say on balance I prefer the transformer stepup on the valve phono as its got a much lower noise floor, and the silicon phono stage I use at times being an up to date modern job is even quieter to the extent that the only hiss is that generated in the cartridge wiring.
